The battery-powered Rail Drilling Machines LD-16B-RP have been specifically designed for use in Railway applications, to provide a consistent and accurate hole, in all types of weather conditions. Special twist drill bits can be used for hole diameters 7 to 22 mm on rail up to 45 mm thick. Whilst broach cutters can be used for hole diameters 13 to 38 mm on rails up to 50 mm thick.
RP stands for "Rainproof". Thanks to the protective cover, operation in the rain is possible (IP44M according to EN 60529).
They are characterized by the following features:
- Needs no combustible fuel or mains power: the powerful 36V 8.0Ah battery promotes safe remote working
- Zero Emissions: no fumes to pollute underground and tunnel working
- Very low acoustic impact: allows night work in urban areas
- Rapid charging: 45min for full battery charge
