Smart Control ADS-3

With the 'ADS Smart Control', all relevant settings - such as the desired torque and optional rotation angle - can be entered quickly and easily and checked directly on the cordless screwdriver on the digital display.

Another advantage is that just one ADS Smart Control can configure several cordless screwdrivers "In the case of series assembly, one person, for example a supervisor, can therefore ensure and monitor the configuration of several cordless screwdrivers at several screwdriving points". "Once the torque has been set by the supervisor, the settings of the cordless screwdriver cannot be changed directly by the person carrying out the work. This means that the repeat accuracy of individual screwdriving processes can be increased and checked more easily".

The new, enhanced measurement and control electronics enable very fine torque settings in 5 Nm increments in the ADS power class up to 750 Nm, or in 10 Nm and 20 Nm increments in higher power classes up to 4,000 Nm. The optional angle of rotation adjustment takes place in 1° increments. This means that the ADS Digital can also be used for angle-controlled tightening, which is used, for example, on highly stressed screw connections in engine construction (image above), on railway vehicles or in steel construction.

Control during tightening

During the tightening process, the live data and a progress bar are shown on the display. Once the preset torque has been reached, the cordless screwdriver switches off automatically. The ADS then rotates automatically by means of a short return ("ITH Automatic Free Run"), preventing the nut or the support on the screw connection from jamming.
