Bird protection hood for support insulators BCIC-3313

The BCIC bird protection hood has been designed and developed in accordance with the bird protection requirements per DIN VDE 0210/12.85 section 8.10. It serves to protect birds from live conductor lines and head fittings from support insulators on concrete and metal masts. The hood consists of flexible plastic that exhibits high dielectric strength and creepage resistance, and is also highly resistant to UV-radiation and other weather influences. The bird protection hood is available with two different centre pieces and is therefore suitable for use on insulators with a round or flat head, and for the various dimensions in the ranges for 10kV and 25kV. The high flexibility of the hood enables easy adaptation to the curved conductor lines, for example when arranged with two insulators (double safety). Simple installation is a further advantage of this hood. It is put over the system parts requiring protection, and fastened on both sides of the conductor line with the aid of metal tightening straps. The design, which is open to the bottom and offers protection over approx. 1.40m, also delivers the maximum in operational reliability in poor weather conditions.
